Singing River Electric purchases all electric wholesale power from South Mississippi Electric Power Association (SMEPA) in Hattiesburg. SMEPA generates some power for Singing River Electric and purchases some power.

Singing River Electric Power Association works with SMEPA to keep rates low by using a diversified mix of generation resources. Diversification helps manage prices in the event one generation resource rises in price.
