**The Power Cost Adjustment (PCA): $0.0378 - (Will be $0.0308/kWh on bills after 12-4-09)
** The Environmental Adjustment(on bills after 12-4-09): $0.00287/kWh
**The Regulatory Adjustment: $0.001168/kWh
The power cost adjustment (PCA) is not a rate increase but a temporary adjustment. It can be an increase or decrease depending on the cost of generating and purchasing electricity. The adjustment is an expense passed through to the member without profit or markup.
The environmental adjustment is not a rate increase but a line item showing costs currently in the bill that are associated with federal compliance to environmental legislation and regulations. In a Carbon constrained world, it will cost more to generate electricity. Singing River Electric has isolated these environmental costs to show the member exactly how much of their bill is a direct result of climate change legislation and regulations. The adjustment is an expense passed through to the member without profit or markup.
The regulatory adjustment is not a rate increase but a line item showing costs associated with all regulatory taxes and fees imposed on Singing River Electric by any governmental body including franchise fees, ad-valorem and property taxes, etc. The adjustment is an expense passed through to the member without profit or markup.
Singing River Electric and South Mississippi Electric Power Association keep power costs low by purchasing a blend of owned and contracted resources to generate electricity including natural gas, coal, nuclear and hydro power.
Singing River Electric members experience some of the lowest cost per kilowatt-hour in the nation.
