As part of Energy Star's national initiative, Singing River Electric plans to encourage our members to pledge to replace at least one standard, incandescent light bulb at home with a compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulb that has earned an Energy Star rating.
According to SRE member services representative Jeff Gray, "lighting accounts for 20 percent of your home's energy use." Replacing standard lights with CFL bulbs that use 75 percent less energy is a significant way to cut energy costs."
